Case Study: HighByte Helps Online Meal Kit Manufacturer Curate, Orchestrate and Model Data

Online meal kit manufacturer Gousto turned to HighByte, an industrial software company, for help with scaling and proving "real-time" data and information in operations.

The challenge

Previously, Gousto had relied on equipment vendors to provide data, which added extra expense and time delays. The lack of visibility into operations caused operational efficiencies. Gousto wanted to scale and get "real-time" data and information for the operation.

The solution

The plan was to use HighByte Intelligence Hub to curate, orchestrate and model data at the edge before publishing into the Amazon Web Services (AWS) ecosystem. Next, HighByte democratized data via abstracted data models to scale the approach using the Templating features in the intelligence Hub. Next, they built a scalable Unified Namespace (UNS) with the Intelligence Hub. HighByte used the Pipelines feature in the Intelligence Hub to extract, transform and load data out of operational systems to give more context for Data teams. Finally, the team used the data to build industrial products to improve efficiency, such as SCADA, MES and CMMS.

"We have been so impressed with the team at Gousto and what they have been able to accomplish in a short amount of time," said Carolyn Baron, success director at HighByte. "They have an innovative mindset and understand that system architecture is foundational to digital transformation. It’s been a pleasure to learn from them and support their sustainability goals."
